Though my religious faith is important to me, I was never for the so called, "moral majority." Our founding fathers gave us a covenant that is informed by Judeo/Christianity but was insist on pluralism. I have no problem being loyal to 2 covenants.

Problem is that leftist authoritarians have stolen "liberal." That's why the word libertarian is used, at least in the US. Of course, now "libertarian" is under assault by right wingers. Just can't seem to have anything nice.

From Rightpondia, Leftpondian liberalism looks very strange. I suspect, Helen, that *your* liberalism is rooted on my side of the pond, but the word "liberal" as used in USA/CAN is (or at least seems to be) often associated with some very illiberal ideas.
