One battle we may be losing is the idea that this fight is intra-left. It isn’t helped by people like Dave Rubin going on about having ‘left the left’, as if to sign up to those principles you have to leave it. And it’s really convenient to certain lw people to paint us as rw.

But this fight can never stay intra-left though. There are right leaning libertarians who value individual liberty, while I will forever be frustrated by their underestimation of the power of private entities, their desire for individual freedom is sincere.

But there is a fight for the soul of the left and that is intra-left by definition. Of course, the conversation more generally includes people all positions having ideas we sometimes agree with and sometimes not.

That's true. But what I mean is that, that fight will inevitably bring you to a position that you are agreeing with some people on the right, and that's something the purity demanding "left" can pounce on that you just can't avoid.
