Here's a thing that really annoys me re gender relations. People who have trouble comprehending that heterosexual people of one sex can deeply connect & even love people of the other sex without there being any romantic/sexual element. They seriously lack emotional depth.

Perhaps they can comprehend it but are simply interested in a sexual relationship with *you*. When there is deep connection AND physical attraction how else would you expect someone to proceed?

That's a different issue to not being able to understand how people can have close bonds that aren't sexual or romantic.

Ah, you're talking about the 'men and women can't be friends' thing. Well...if two people are emotionally and physically attracted to each other then why wouldn't they form a relationship? I would say it's external factors that cause them to deny base desires.

Again, a different thing. Talking about people who aren't attracted to each other and form close relationships anyway. You know, like the vast majority of relationships we have in life.

Huh...yes, that doesn't make much sense at all.

Exactly. I'm not terribly attractive right now and also not interested in men who aren't my husband. Yet, I manage to make good friendships with men, anyway.
