The rate of millennial women choosing to become stay-at-home-moms is on the rise. Bad work-life balance and lack of flexibility may be to blame: http://on.forbes.com/6012DP1KE pic.twitter.com/skh0GNvBUB

You think more women would be happy dedicating all their time to children and housework? Note that the options I'm suggesting aren't 'all time at work' or ' all time at home' but 'all time at home' or 'a bit of both.'
A good work/life balance, yes. Women usually get a better deal here. But 'less work' is not 'no work.' And looking after small children is a bit different to 'spending time with family & friends. You can't have a good chat & wine.' It's exhausting & repetitive & often very dull.
But then you'd have to love changing nappies and playing with play-doh and dealing with tantrums and watching Teletubbies and I don't think many women do want to do that ALL THE TIME. Happiness decreases when you have kids & then goes up again when they grow up.
What about childcare workers then? They must be as miserable as sin if that is the case
Some people genuinely enjoy this but it's also just for a few hours a day. Then they get to go and spend time with adults.
Obviously a lot depends on getting a job you like. I'd prefer to stay home doing childcare & housework than being, say, an accountant.
