While that's an excellent rebuttal, I have to say I'm getting a little concerned about all this JBP dogpiling. It's really starting to look like the same 'purity testing' we mock in the PoMo circles.

That assumes we have the same goals and are in the same circles to begin with & pounce on people who don't approach them correctly. I disagree with Peterson for the same reason I disagree with other deniers of the objectivity of truth and other social conservatives. Consistently.
-
Fair enough. I suppose I'm not getting concerned because you SPECIFICALLY,
@GodDoesnt, or a few others criticise (it's your right). Just that my timeline has been FILLED with it the last month or so. Looks like a lynch mob. -
Judge them on what they are criticising him for, whether it is reasonable and related to what he is saying. He's a significant voice now with much influence. The problem is that he is a one-man phenomenon so criticism of his ideas ends up indistinguishable from criticism of him.
-
This makes me uncomfortable too because I can criticise far-right & far-left & religious & anti-SJW views without targetting individuals & just focusing on ideas. But he, as I said, is a one-man phenomenon so this doesn't work. It matters tho. It need to be addressed.

Yeah. If there were 5, 10, or 100 JBPs, this wouldn't look so much like a dogpile.

Honest question: where does
@jordanbpeterson argue this? Link available? -

Thanks. Pretty short clip, and what he said before and (especially) after it would be interesting, and possibly relevant. But taken at face value (if that's the correct expression), I would strongly disagree with his view.

I loved this because the entire conversation was filled with good-faith, constructive disagreement.
@PsychRabble was particularly adept at keeping the mood light and friendly. And kudos to@boni_bo for maintaining that spirit in multiple subthreads. -
Thanks. Whatever lightness was greatly facilitated by use of bitmoji's, which I discovered through
@PamelaParesky. It is amazing how those things can take an edge off... (and I have sooo very many edges to be taken off...).pic.twitter.com/YylsKNqqtP

And now I have bitmoji! I feel my conversational style improving already =)pic.twitter.com/fs3RjmwV4r

How is all the twitter outrage gonna sustain itself if everyone starts tweeting these mildly amusing and silly cartoon selfies...?pic.twitter.com/Ay97bzdWdT

This has gotten entirely out of hand and over the top.pic.twitter.com/SVfEd8RJOX

When JBP suggested women wear makeup to signal sexual availability thru simulating some elements of physical arousal, Was it meant the same way biologists often talk of the evolutionary explanation for behaviour seen in other species in the language of individual volition?
