That would be good if it's doable. I don't know enough about economics to know how this would be paid for.

We need to value families above and beyond economics/capitalism.
-
I don't know that that means anything. I do value my family over economics and capitalism but I also value other people's wellbeing and I'm not prepared to take money which could be spent on vulnerable people for looking after my own house and family.

Most people having kids are vulnerable. Everyone should be able to take care of their own children for up to a year. biologically/psychologically/sociologically speaking: we need to. Forming secure bonds takes longer than a few weeks. Breastfeeding is crucial and takes time, too.

I think we're just going to keep going over the same area so I'll leave it here.

Yes I think to some extent you’re right but Public Health recommend 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, plus the idea of extending leave for up to 52 weeks was to include fathers to take more paternity leave. Though most don’t actually take that up.
-
Yes, and this should be facilitated. I saw a horrible thing that I think was in the US of a woman ordered to do jury service whilst breastfeeding and then charged for bringing her baby with her so she could.
