That is exactly what it looks to me like you are doing to @nice_hypothesis here, and exactly what I think most people are doing to JBP's point as well.

The issue is the first is describing reality as it is and the second is describing reality as it should be. Many believe that the latter is an impossible goal in that harassment will always take place.
-
As such, it makes practical sense to at least discuss the factors that do in reality affect the likelihood of being harassed, and allow individuals to modify those factors if they want to decrease their risks.

Yeah, this is bullshit. I met my wife through work. Our professional dealings were professional; we had social encounters that led to dates that led to engagement and marriage.
-
Harassment usually involves one or more of the following: behaving like an asshole, which can include persistent advances after being told they’re not welcome; confusing social behavior with professional conduct; and misuse of power.

Yes but the claim "women should be able to look attractive without harrassement" is a normative claim not an empirical one, while everyone can agree with the morals of it, it doesnt actually get to the crux of the issue which is why feminists postulate rape etc has 2 do w/power
-
Huh? A normative claim is just something to aim at. What else would we aim at? Burkas? Workplace segregation?
