1) Say that men are trash. 2) Receive widespread objection to such dehumanising prejudice. 3) Ignore the women objecting and focus on the men. 4) Claim it to be a hateful, misogynistic pile-on. 5) Store it as evidence that men are trash. 6) Claim to be exhausted and traumatised.https://twitter.com/hpluckrose/status/960842004929400832 …

What is a MGTOW?
-
Men going their own way. Much like separatist feminists. They opt out of relationships to force society to stop being gynocentric.

FWIW, I don't think that's MGTOW's main issue. If anything, that's the least aggressive 'spurned male' movement. And there is a kernel of truth in their objection to society in that they tend to be men who 'did the thing society said,' but were relegated to the garbage heap. 1/2

#NotAllMgtow#NotAllFeminists The ones I've had over the last couple of days? Oh yes. -
I'm not saying resentment isn't the core of the movement, because it absolutely is. I'm saying more it's not just that a woman spurned them, because that happens to all males all of the time. I'm saying there's extra nuance in that they were spurned while 'doing the right thing'.

That’s unfortunate. You & many don’t realize that the vast majority are silent. Opting out is a passive move. Is there anger? Sure. There’s anger everywhere it seems. Most though just go our merry way. We understand words will get us nowhere.
-
That's fine. I support everyone's rights not to have relationships. I'll keep working on addressing the problems.
-
Good for you. I have empathy for these guys though I don’t agree with the methods. Men who have such a large paradigm shift are dealing with a myriad of emotions we are not equipped to deal with. This presents as anger. It does dissipate.
-
I think proactive MGTOW do not have any real anger, reactive MGTOW (who have already been burnt by the system) tend to be the ones with anger issues. Most would abandon their position if society laws/attitudes adjusted somewhat.

I think some people lash out due to negative experiences & unfortunately take it out on innocent people. I don't want a "relationship" but have great relationships with women in general & don't consider myself mgtow. I don't blame women for my choices.

MGTOW means different things to different people, but the general idea is men moving away from women and getting closer to themselves

Was the MGTOW a rapper? You know, context is everything.

While I'm not in the habit of defending MGTOW, it's more likely that his hatred of women comes from genuinely awful behaviour on behalf of particular women that he is falsely generalizing out to everyone with a vagina.

They can be extreme but I can at least see their side of the “debate”.

I think you do well at guarding against Twitter Normal. It's not quite right.
