If we are looking for solutions to societal problems, and that should NOT just be the domain of sociologists, we are not dealing with individuals, and we are not and should not be judging individuals. How can we make any decisions if we reduce everything 2 the individual?!

When we're dealing with individuals. Which most of the time we are. When looking for solutions to societal problems, we can look at demographics.

I doubt we disagree. I'm sure you can recognise that black youths are overrepresented in gun crime & work for solutions to this without treating every black youth as if he is about to shoot you.

Absolutely, but my point is to deal with ANY of these problems we need to be able to talk about specifics
