So, well-seasoned travellers, tell me. If I gradually start extending my bedtime until I am keeping Portland, Oregon time before I go, will this prevent jetlag or is that more to do with what the sun is doing?

I do that run regularly but in reverse. I don't get jet-lag going from the UK to the West Coast. It's going from the West Coast to the UK that's the problem. I've not found a solution other than coffee and determination.

^What he said.^ Always lagged when arriving in Europe, not much at all on the return, even after 2 full weeks on European time. Sorry, Helen!

No, that's great. I don't mind jetlag in my own home but it's awful when in someone else's with talking commitments.
