This seems a bit confused. You don't seem to realise it's the gender-specific modesty codes that are considered oppressive. Also, you don't even need to believe hijabs are bad to support the Iranian women fighting for the right not to wear them.

Nuns covering their heads often comes up. Nuns are a vanishingly tiny ℅ of the female population in the West. Forty five (yes 45) females became nuns in the UK in 2015.
