Women are disproportionately victims of violence (and murder) at the hands of men in their domestic relationships. The confronting of a “male violent criminal” isn’t what we’re talking about. How do you propose to lessen it if not by pointing it out? Or should we just accept it?
I don't think you should assume anyone thinks you support this narrative. But this narrative existing is often the context in which people go on and on about gendered violence stats.

I think if they don't think it they wouldn't react the way they do. This happens a lot. People get their back up because they think I am on the "other" side, then I clarify I am not I just hold a reasoned opinion about one thing, and they chill out.
