When I wrote my piece about why I decided to stop identifying as a feminist, so many women commented with similar experiences that I collected them & posted it as a follow-up. To say that their comments supported my observation was simply true.

There is a very different phenomenon in which *any* response to an essay is seen as supporting its thesis. eg, agreeing that feminism is necessary proves feminism is necessary whilst disagreeing that feminism is necessary shows just how much feminism is necessary.

Even the most ridiculous claims can have comments supporting them, an argument can be supported by accounts but that has little to do with the legitimacy of the argument.
