It is at 24 weeks the brain starts laying down pathways. This shows experience. The brain shows when experience is registered. Also, they can pinpoint very precisely when central nervous system is developed enough to feel pain. Much research specifically for abortion ethics

Some studies say 19 weeks, others 20, and others 23-24. There's no definitive way to measure pain & the experience of it is subjective. Heck, even though doctors can't objectively measure pain.

I just think your reasoning (lack of unawareness of existence) is an ethically unsound position to take considering the nature of the subject. There ought to be a moral foundation of valuing life, and exceptions built around that. Not the other way around.

It's a metaphysical problem. Empiricists have to find evidence of a "beginning" and draw the line there. Stepping back and thinking about a life in the abstract is considered "mystical thinking", or so I've gathered from engaging with that crowd.
