How does this make unwanted pregnancy go away without abortion? Is it possible to not be a slave to one's own sexual drive but still have a sex life? Does knowing that sex can cause pregnancy even if you're very careful then mean you must just let consequences happen to you?https://twitter.com/B16pal/status/958125918727360513 …

By being master of one's passions and using reason over emotion: 1) not a slave to one's own sexual drive 2) understanding the natural end to the sexual act at any time is procreation 3) knowing that abortion won't make the memory of rape go away, but will only pass oppression on

We all have to accept consequences of every action. That's not really the question right? I mean the question is whether the embryo is human or property. Whether it's "the woman's" body or a unique individual with a right to life. It's not a simple question to answer.

I think it is. I was once pro-life and still am for myself but it;s not reasonable. Need to go with the science and reason for laws. http://helenpluckroseblogs.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/my-position-on-abortion.html …

How is it "not reasonable"? I mean I'm not argue either extreme (no abortion/ right to life at conception on the one side and abortion at anytime any reason on the other). Your quoted position I think is more than reasonable for viable fetuses.

Well, I posted my view. If you think a different view is reasonable, you'd need to argue that and then I could say why it was not reasonable or change my mind.

Maybe I misunderstood, do you still hold your 2015 position you linked to, or do you now find that position unreasonable? Cause if it's the latter I'm curious as to what you find about your 2015 position to be unreasonable.

Good questions...If one chooses to do an act with a possible outcome (like, throwing a baseball near a glass window & knowing the window might get broken) they haven't 'let' the consequence happen, they *caused* it to happen. 1/

It is possible to master oneself and still have a sex life. My husband and I have done this for years. We practice abstinence if we need to when I'm fertile. Planned each baby we had. If a woman isn't married, and still desires a sex life, 2/

3/ she needs, like the person who threw the ball, to use reason first. Can I take care of the baby that might come or should I give up for adoption? Abortion is like breaking the window and running away, not taking responsibility for the outcome you knew could happen

I mostly agree with you, but there are circumstances where the choices are not so clear cut & the consequences could have complicated ramifications. Limiting abortion to only those circumstances would be impossible to legislate, so I think the option should remain open for every1

And yet most other 1st world countries have such legislation in place. Ours is one of only 7 that allows it without reason and past 20 weeks

What kind of legislation do they have, though? For example, allowing abortions in cases of rape could never be legislated (look how divided the #metoo movement is).
