I am critical of feminism, as I'm sure you've noticed, and I don't have much patience for 'cultural conditioning/brainwashing' arguments. I think 'women are being made to feel X and it must be stopped' approaches often become authoritarian and deny women responsibility & agency.

It's reassuring to read this. On Twitter, I often feel like the only person in the country who was raised with these values.

And I'd be the first to admit that individualism is hardly free of problems (potential for excessive narcissism (arguably the precursor to today's cacophony of victimhood claims)).
-
Could it be that derailed individualism leads to a desire of identitarianism?

I'm no learned thinker, but my sense is it may be something like *overwrought* individualism. I espouse individualism because the "individual" is the proper seat of suffering, morality, heck *existence*. NOT cuz the "individual" is somehow impressive (the beginning of narcissism)
