I'm guessing yes? Bc women usually sacrifice careers, fun, independence and happiness to have children. And they're ok with that. Children make them less happy because they worry about them. This doesn't mean kids are only satisfaction of course. But great thread from Iona

It's clear women get satisfaction out of many things. But women sacrifice many other sources of satisfaction in order to have kids. Does that not indicate that kids are valued above all things? For a significant number of years at least?

Yes. We don't disagree on that at all. But the questions 'Are children the most important thing in most women's lives?' and 'Are children women's primary source of satisfaction?' are very different. I'd say the answer to the first is usually 'yes', to the second usually 'no.'

Ok
. I took satisfaction to mean "fulfills a need". Kids are at least one of the most important sources of satisfaction. Just ask someone who can't have kids. Careers, hobbies etc don't compensate.
