It's always women who get brainwashed, isn't it? Whether by patriarchal gender norms or feminism, I'm constantly being told women don't know what they want and have no agency and are very impressionable. I think it's a Christian culture thing that goes back to the Sin of Eve. https://twitter.com/pookietooth/status/956933568743161856 …

Why on earth else would women put themselves through what they do to fit into the feminine mold? Bloody shaven body parts, sore back/legs/feet from wearing 4 inch heels, nail fungus from constant nail painting, hours to apply makeup and style hair, itchy clothes, exposed skin...

      1. Some women prefer not having body hair. 2. Comfortable high heels exist. 3. Nail polish does not cause nail fungus. 4. It does not take hours. 5. Comfortable clothes exist. 6. You don't have to do any of this.

      1. Not enough to explain why it's a social norm only for women 2. Walking on your toes damages your body 3. Ask a doctor 4. Most styles require at least 30 minutes per day, hours per week 5. Most don't fit current style 6. Major loss of social status matters

      1. It's still a choice. 2. That only applies to stilettos. 3. Nail fungus is caused by infections, look it up. 4. Yo can spend ten minutes or thirty, which per day is nothing. 5. You don't have to be a slave to fashion to look nice. 6. I'm not convinced of a 'major' loss.
