I have to say (well, I don't, but I'm going to), I've been feeling a lot more sisterhood & warmth from conservative women than from leftists for some time now even if they really don't like my views on economics, reproduction, religion, motherhood, sex and more.

I tend to switch up ideologies every few years, like Johnny Carson with wives. In my little bubble of experience, conservatives tend to shrug off disagreement. Liberals tend to freak out.

While It's tempting to blame liberalism for this, James LIndsay has suggested that this has more to do with who currently has "cultural hegemony" than anything else.

Also, most Western religious conservatives know there's a subjective leap of faith at the core of their worldview and understand the need for religious tolerance. Many liberal humanists seem certain they have a lock on objective truth.

Or is it that liberals don’t think there is objective truth, so everything is a constant power struggle? At the end of the day, conservatives can shrug and say “I’m not the ultimate judge.” Liberals can’t do this.

Some still use the label 'liberal' but it's becoming increasingly less likely because of wanting to distinguish themselves from us - the genuine liberals whom they call 'neo-liberals' or 'classical liberal conservatives.'

‘Liberal’ is too ambiguous. Think we need the term ‘social democrat’ used more frequently.
