You think it's the liberalism causing the problems right now? Not the far-right, far-left and Islamists?

I think it would be more accurate to say that I believe liberalism, like all human endeavours, has a shelf life and that the significant problems posed by the far right/left and religious fundamentalism add to the overall problems that western civilisations face today.

Unfortunately liberalism is the only one of the applied societal structures that has worked, but I believe the far left to be the inevitable symptom of it. Hey, I might be wrong. I just don't know what to believe anymore.

I agree with all of that on paper, but application of those principles seems to be tricky because, as we have seen, rights can be weaponised and equality often gets mistaken with equity.

If we can't agree on the turf upon which to play the game of life, how can we apply rules without inevitably including multiple exceptions?

Exceptions can take us left or right.
