Cult? I'm not convinced. Is it his religion stuff? He discusses psychological meaning & makes compelling arguments as to why it's important. I still don't know what he means by God and I still don't believe in God. Even after buying both his books and watching hours of lectures.https://twitter.com/HPluckrose/status/954431274210480128 …

It's the difficulty in disagreeing with him, even partially, without 100s of notifications taking it extremely personally, launching into convoluted apologism or strange woo abt the meaning of truth & referring to him as a father, saviour, hope-bringer.

The actions of the fan club can't be mediated by JBP though. He's not responsible for them. I'm more weirded out by Corbyns fans tbh.

Very similar! This is why we've been saying it grows up around him & we need to find something inspiring & unifying which doesn't centre on strange definitions of truth & trad gender roles.https://areomagazine.com/2017/12/08/the-problem-with-truth-and-reason-in-a-post-truth-society/ …

I swear I will wear this word out yet. Idolatry. people fawn and worship the person/book/idol/idea, be it Peterson, the Bible, Feminism, Atheism or whatever to the point that they blind themselves to any truth that seems contradictory and must burn all heretics.
