There is a perceived possible consequence of crossing the line with men that simply isn't there when doing the same with women. Where a man may turn to violence, a woman is far, far less likely to do so. Men know this, and it naturally factors in to their behavior.

Yes, and men are much less likely to turn to violence if a woman says something really insulting.

I think less likely to turn to actual violence, but just as likely to attempt to physically intimidate, even if only subconsciously. This is the area I'm really focusing on here.

I don't know tho. I think women are often much more likely to let rip at a man because he's almost certainly not going to harm them & also more likely to get over it. I realise there are very many exceptions to this rule tho.

But I think your general idea of being conscious not to be intimidating, even unintentionally, when you are much bigger and stronger than the other person is a good one.
