Men are very mindful of violence when talking with other men, my point is that they are far less mindful when talking to women.
Yes, you're not on hyperalert then either. A male friend was recently saying to me that this is why men walk away from arguments with women less. They can play out & get more heated because the risk of a physical fight is not there.

There certainly men who feel this way but I would think generally it doesn't work that way.

Arguments turn into fights when mostly when both sides escalate tension/aggression mostly people tend to avoid that because of society and culture.

Specifically in terms of arguments in my experience it's about personality or how people process information, some people get emotional/aggressive if you disagree with there dearly held belief, could be man or woman, not sure which gender is more likely to.
