I don't think we can reasonably express a general fear of becoming a victim of violent crime along with acknowledgement that men are more likely to commit it as 'Women are afraid that men will kill them.'

I don't want to live in a society where men think women feel that or women think they should feel that. It would embolden abusive & exploitative criminals, make kind men treat women with kid gloves rather than as equals & undermine women's confidence to engage with the world.

Can we not work on the assumption that people generally don't want to kill each other, that violent criminals exist & present a threat to society generally tho often differently by gender and do not represent any demographic because generally people don't want to kill each other?

I think we usually do work on that assumption because this is the general experience of people who live in the world.
