We really need to take a detailed poll of how many women fear men are going to kill them. I'd be amazed if this was a common concern.https://twitter.com/CathyYoung63/status/954282676537757696 …

Sometimes it seems like this fear is seized upon because it is unfixable as long as men are stronger than women and violent criminals exist. My husband could kill me easily. So could my Labrador. Neither of them have any intention of doing so.

Can we talk about women selecting these men in the first place? I have known many who seemed to be the only person who did not know the guy they dated was despicable. Then when he hits them they blame MEN. They dated many violent men. No one assigned the men to them.

Not very many people are able to feel a strong feeling, but still recognize that this feeling may not provide useful or important information. The world would be a better place if more people cultivated this skill — combined with general purpose critical thinking skills.

Most people unquestioningly act upon feelings as though they were divine commandments, aiming their critical faculties inwardly only rarely, with great effort, and usually toward the goal of ex post facto justification and ego-assuagement.

I am sometimes in that place, after being thrown against a wall 40 some years ago. Makes me wary on occasion, but now MUCH meaner, too
