Lol. Temporarily forgot that both my father and daughter have difficulty recognising faces and sent the latter to find the former outside the theatre. We didn't think until she hadn't come back ten minutes later. They were less than ten feet apart but no!

My daughter does better at recognising key markers like hair colour and height and shape of people than my father tho. It's not pure prosopagnosia tho she does get cross if people change their hair colour or change glasses for contacts. Very inconsiderate.

I believe I have a touch of that too! At first thought my ego had me not paying enough attention to introductions, but after years of REALLY trying to fix that, I'm still no better off. That said, I recognize almost anyone's voice within seconds after some previous familiarity.

We noticed it first in my daughter when she couldn't keep TV characters straight if they were a similar build & colouring and couldn't recognise her favourite actors if they appeared in something else.

Interesting. And, wow, re: your keen observation of yer kid! Of course, now that I'm really starting to see the effects of ageing, I'm also absolutely convinced that every awkward sidewalk encounter is also absolutely the first sign of dementia/Alzheimer's. #andonitgoes... 🤪

I feel her pain: I go by how they walk and move. (When people stand still, I‘ll look right at them with zero recognition. 😣)
