That is what I wrote about, yes, and used him as an example. We need to find one to counter this that will be equally satisfying but that is based in facts and works on reason. @MatthewdAncona argued for this before me and at much greater length in his book on post-truth.

He's found a way to appeal to people, yes. Not truth. They respond to him like a prophet - emotionally, reverently. They say he brings hope, makes them feel special. I can see why that is seductive in the darkness & ugliness of the now but this rarely ends well.
