This is known, yes. We know that evolution is true because we relied on evidence and reason and testing hypotheses and resisted people's attempts to assert contradictory creation myths to establish this. Now we understand our motivated reasoning & cognitive flaws much better.

Thats beyond stupid and you know it. I'd say its close mindness or ignorance on your part but you seem to completely strawman these arguments
-
Its the clearest example of truth not having to serve the purpose of humanity that I could think of. But you have confirmed that you, like Peterson, think truth includes things which aren't objectively true & that was what we were saying to people who denied this.
-
Your anecdote is not clear. In fact, it works for me. Global Warming doesn't serve the betterment of humanity because it can have disastrous effects for our descendants survival. Your attempt to make Petersons view sound stupid is futile since you don't know it
-
But it's true anyway. It is true regardless of what this means for humans. I do know it. You are arguing it right now but earlier people were denying he said these things so you have helped.

I'm not arguing with postmodernists today on their views. I'm just arguing that they have certain ones and you have confirmed this for anyone who doubted it. I'll leave it here.
-
Who are you calling Postmodernist? The Postmodernist view is that there is no truth and its a matter of interpretation. You've failed to delineate your point in a sufficient manner to simply state that "you'll leave it here"
-
There are many truths to postmodernists and they are all rooted in cultural myths and discourses and feelings and lived experience. JBP argues much the same. And I'm bored of explaining it to his followers. Done it too many times & for too long. Excuse me, now.
-
And yet you've failed to provide any compelling argument and instead attempt to put yourself on some intellectual pedestal, looking down on "JPB followers". If you've been doing this for a long time, without result then you're terrible at doing it, I'm afraid to say

One can argue behaviour patterns/interpretations which persist over generations have more evidentiary data points/proof behind them than claims justified through objective science-especially for complex soft sciences. Real world experiments are messier but to dismiss them.. jeez.

One could make an argument that white culture is superior to others, given the level of dominance it has acquired (SJWs make the opposite argument and old the biological racial argument has folded) We've rejected the veracity of that claim mostly because of its gruesome outcomes

Seems just like semantics to me — Peterson’s idea of truth is not intuitive to most. But just because somebody has shown some postmodernist tendencies doesn’t mean all of their ideas and reasonings are bad. I’d like to hear what specifically Sam disagrees with him on here.

A weak way to straw man a pragmatic definition of truth - mock it by claiming it enables one declare any given assertion true & that being a flaw with. Whereas, the whole point is that evolution will determine which interpretations are valid as they do/don't track to reality.
