A dissenting opinion: it seems like Lindsay's take is more of a reflection of his dislike of Peterson that it is a reflection of who Peterson is or of his impact on men (to focus on that point). It is as motivated and uncharitable as Newman's interview.

Well, there's a reason for that dislike & to still be charitable about him anyway is great.
-
I guess I'm wondering how much of this dislike stems from what Peterson says or thinks or could be said to plausibly think, and how much of it is manufactured in the pursuit of disliking him more. It looks like the latter.
-
No. I happen to know this because we talk about this often and both began in a neutral position. James expected to hate this but ended up having to approve of most of it.
-
People often assume we have a tribal enmity against JPB but this isn't the case. He's very popular in the circles we move in so criticising his epistemology & ideas earns us lots of disappointment, argument & unfollowing.
-
Yea, not to say I agree with everything he says either. I remember when Sam Harris drilled down on him on his podcast about what truth meant; Peterson's own pause was even longer than the one he brought Newman. It was good.
