I have just finished reading a paper which looked at the way trans people who were also trans activists went about disrupting the norms and expectations at their workplace. There was much approval & no mention of tone-deafness.

Excuse me. I should have said "to suggest you're not succeeding because of some biological difference." I think the point still stands.
-
The funny thing is you actually suggest here that women who are short could actually be a Pro Basketball Player because as you suggest nothing biological could hold her back... It´s not even remotely what the memo argues, but I couldn't help myself to point out your thinking :)

Coaching, scouting and front-office work, jobs filled by women for women's sports teams and in other industries, but remain 99% filled by men in the NBA, probably a closer comparison here. Are only 1% of women in those roles due to biological differences?
-
I think tech jobs much more closely resemble coaching and front office work than they resemble the job market for the millionaires on the court.
-
My Point was that in your statement you suggested it can't be a disadvantage because of biology. - nothing more, nothing less!
