I'm not upset. The thing you attached said he didn't do it right. His communication style is a completely different issue to the ethical question. We're talking about whether it was a morally acceptable thing to do not whether it was the best strategy.
My mother posted leaflets and marched and camped out places for women to get access to jobs. This was tone-deaf because her work culture was not hitting this tone. It might also have entrenched their belief that women were more trouble than worth. It was still ethical tho.
