Nestled among two-uniform-arms+a-sashfull of others. My crisply ironed brown uniform matched only by my far-too-eager-for-approval brown nose. It's a wonder I wasn't clubbed to death like a baby seal by the rest of my pack... or Brown Owl!

I was a very bad Brownie. Wouldn't join in the games and activities. Wandered off by myself and read. Got three badges altogether. Hated it.

Can absolutely picture that. And love it! I actually got that way when I "flew up" to Girl Guides -- which I loathed. The older girls were hideous. Terrifying, even! Like my worst imaginings of a women's prison. Probably explains why I never watched Orange is the New Black. -
