Yes, this is a strange request. Name a feminist you respect who isn't just mirroring your views. Obviously, I can respect *people* I think are wrong on a topic but I think she meant name someone whose views you respect but think are wrong. I tend to respect views I think right. https://twitter.com/GodDoesnt/status/950398170881720320 …

I am always confused by 'Respect views you don't agree with.' No. We can respect people's right to those views and the people themselves but we really need to be discriminating about which ideas we respect. Save your respect for ideas you think are sound.

I think the only way someone can respect an idea they don't think is true is if they have a philosophical commitment to not thinking things are true and not evaluating things for substance. That is a bad commitment to have, people. Just say no.

I think what most people really mean when they say 'Respect all beliefs/views etc' is 'Respect that these views are important to people and part of what makes them who they are. Don't rudely attack those views.'

Because it wouldn't make sense to eg, genuinely respect the claim that Jesus was the son of God AND that he wasn't, he was just a revered prophet AND that he was a false messiah. People who say they respect all faiths don't really mean they believe all those things true at once.

They mean it's not the most important thing to them which of those is true or if none of them are. They respect the idea of faith more than they respect the truth claims of any one of them. That is what they want to convey.
