This is what happens when you think in terms of "voices" rather than "arguments" and "evidence".

For what it is worth, I agree, real empirical evidence is important. But what is a more primary source of information and education than someone's lived experience? I am a cishet white male too, after all, and I recognize the limits of my understanding.
-
Such lived experience can be an important source of evidence, but that depends on the argument. Voices are not things that have value; arguments are, and anyone can make or critique arguments.
-
The "argument" trans voices are making is for themselves to be able to live full, happy lives. The difference you are calling out is meaninglessly semantic. Are you guys all biologists and sex therapists? Or do you just have opinions you feel strongly about?
-
Not sure what you are referring to here. Who is arguing against trans individuals living full, happy lives? And what, in particular, are they arguing?

it's so surreal to hear people say that some opinions don't matter as much as others because of something they can't control at all. Like I can at least learn about genetics before I debate it but if I'm okay with my gender I can't talk about something relating to gender?
