LOL. Completely dog-piled by far-lefties and accused of all kinds of bigotry & hatred & wanting to end healthcare and welfare support because I supported an essay that said we liberals need to criticise this behaviour in the left. Way to convince me I'm wrong.

You'd think they'd take it as a compliment. As I read it
@GodDoesnt was saying that the right is too far gone to even bother criticising...4 replies 2 retweets 4 likes -
That's a ridiculous position to take, IMO. Just putting lipstick on Dave Rubinism. Also known as the soft bigotry of low expectations (towards the right).

You can't be bigoted against sets of ideas. If you think you can convince the far-right that racism & sexism & homophobia are bad, try. That Daryll bloke had some luck. I'll focus more on getting my own house in order & let the reasonable rightists sort out theirs.

Didn't say you could. I'm saying that not criticizing the right because you think they're too far gone (Peter's paraphrase of James's position) is the "soft bigotry of low expectations".

I have low expectations of being able to convince the far-right, yes. I don't mind being thought prejudiced against them. I am.
