We really only need only acknowledge that our understanding is almost certainly limited & our knowledge always provisional. I don't understand people who prefer to remain mired in this lack of perfection rather than doing the best we can with what we've got which is working well.https://twitter.com/andrevanes/status/948288887704772608 …

At least we know the limitations of Morris’ cognition in understanding our reality.

It's a very bizarre mentality. Some people find it much more fulfilling to remain in a fog and keep finding different ways of talking about the fog than accepting that limitations exist & trying to overcome as many of them as we can.

I think this comes down to personality types. People who find awe and wonder in the ultimate unknowability of everything and people who say 'fuck that' and develop medicines and technology and find out how our bodies work & what the universe is made of.

Obviously these are the extremes but I think we all have a tendency one way or the other. I do not find science very interesting but I like to see how ideologies and value systems work, take them apart and see what they're made of which I think is a similar psychology.

I want to know what is true but often on a social level. Why are people saying this? How are they thinking? How did they get here? What do they want on a fundamental level? I get very frustrated with people who'd like us to remain in a fog here.
