.....could not disagree more strongly. Paul dressed a pre existing scaffold with further unfounded nonsense, promoted slavery and the inequality of women. I’d struggle to find anything progressive in his letters, even for Roman times.

Hmmm. The slavery and inequality of women already existed. The promoted a brotherhood and got rid of a lot of the old Jewish laws and did not require circumcision and was open to all. It was very attractive and that was why it spread.

1 Timothy 1:8-11, and Romans 3:1-3 refute that, though admittedly Paul was inconsistent throughout his letters on adherence to old testament law
