Not really. This retains the bad bits of postmodernism - constructing one's own reality - without regaining the good bits of modernism - a search for objective knowledge. I talked about this recently.https://areomagazine.com/2017/12/08/the-problem-with-truth-and-reason-in-a-post-truth-society/ …

Metamodernism could be valuable for its recognition that grand narratives matter to people & that we need to believe in things but a metamoderrnism which seeks to attain this by 'oscillating' between logical & emotional thinking in myriad, subjective ways is still postmodernism

Postmodernism keeps dropping bits as they fall out of favour - it lost its nihilistic hopelessness & playfulness when it went into its second identity-based phase and now it's likely to lose its cynicism & insincerity as part of that same development to make it more livable with.

But whilst it maintains core features - a denial of objective truth, identity-based, discursive cultural constructivism, rejection of the value of secular, liberal democracy, skepticism about the individual or the possibility of shared humanity, it continues to screw things up.
