Too funny; this post (from another smart lady with informed opinions on such things) was just two below this conversation on my timeline:https://twitter.com/HeatherEHeying/status/945686227193290755 …

Humans have good adaptive reason to be phobic of snakes & spiders. My half-joking opinion, having spent a lot of time in forests where both are abundant, is: People are creeped out by critters EITHER with “too few” OR “too many” legs. Snakes or spiders? Me, I like snakes.

I also swing both ways -- well appendage-wise anyway -- with spiders in a bit of a lead. That is, from a distance. When it comes to actual contact, though, I'll cuddle an anaconda over an arachnid any day, thanks!

I don't cuddle with them, but I do carry them outside on sheets of typing paper! Cuddle object puppy photo.pic.twitter.com/PmK8puAwBX
