Yes. Not explicitly but in effect, yes. Also, anti-racist goals were sexist. The argument is that when people spoke of 'women' they meant white women and when they spoke of 'blacks' they meant men. The unique problems of black women were getting missed.

The intuition that certain people "deserve" to suffer is very deeply ingrained in humans and it's unreasonable - in part because it's based on intuitions about libertarian free will which are internally contradictory. Pointing out internally contradictory ideas is good by itself

but pointing out this internally contradictory idea also has the benefit of potentially reducing suffering by quite a bit so I'd say it "matters."
