The point is that you can largely ignore the specifics of their content-free eruptions. There are many rat-holes that you do not need to go down. I like
@SamHarrisOrg, for example, but a head-on skeptical assault on the faith of 1.3B Moslems is a marginal strategy at best. -
On the other hand, if you act as a moderator under procedural rules such as the Chicago principles and you fund research and departments engaged in empirical investigation, you've accomplished your goals with elegant means. That is of course the genius of classical liberalism.
