I think this is the conservative/liberal difference between my parents. My father doesn't believe in God but likes Christianity. My mother doesn't believe in God & doesn't like Christianity either. She likes Christians tho, usually.

First heard it from my grandfather when he was working on the headstone for my grandmother and himself. He scratched out a bunch of stuff in the design saying "This symbolizes everlasting life with god. We don't believe in that." I had always guessed, but didn't know until then.
