No idea what this means... Why does saying that I find far-left abuse harder to deal with than far-right abuse result in accusations that I support the far-left & woefully mischaracterise the far-right? https://twitter.com/bloatmarm/status/943349074371203072 …

Egalitarianism is the core of that project. We aren’t talking about the abuse you recieve so much as policies you admit to being on board with. What is equality to you? To me it means legislation tailored to group identity, because this is a question of political power.

that’s a wild definition of equality. doesn’t even invoke a comparison, which you’d think to be fundamental

If it’s “wild,” please produce an alternative that is less “wild” instead of complaining that it does not live up to your expectations. “...you’d think to be fundamental.” Who?

i don’t think human equality is defineable. i settle for equal rights, which is pretty much universal in the west already

Equal rights, equal freedoms, equal opportunities, yes. I'll also argue against attitudes which are sexist, racist, homophobic etc.

there’s no real hope of making all attitudes equal. that’s like calling for one true opinion

No, but we still keep arguing things out anyway and society progresses.

i’m certainly not telling you to! but i don’t think that’s the same as defining equality in a useable way, either

No, arguing against racism, sexism and homophobia is not the same as defining equality.

Sexism, racism, homphobia are terms used to police threats to an identitarian group. I don’t think they would be used in this way if these groups were not after privileges rather than equality. Mind you, there is a difference between rights of citizens defined generally & this.

Well, I think you're wrong. I will call things sexist if they don't offer men or women the same rights as the other and not if they do.

And I think you’re wrong because what is most important to you is that all groups of people have access to the kinds of pleasures that define them as a group despite the expense to life and civilization.
