Your upbringing, the little I know about it, reminds me of my dad. His parents just kind of let him go. They never went to his sporting events or supported him much. He laments it to this day. You gotta be there for your kids. Just being there is so important.

Ftr, they supported me a lot, but they didn't punish me much. I honestly don't think they could have. I was very rebellious.

I was also unpunishable. If they took something away, I would never use it again to take that leverage away. It was really quite extreme.
