I feel very strongly about parenting, not because I think that it makes a huge difference to how the child will turn out but because I think it makes a huge difference to how children experience childhood.

There's nothing profound about that, though. It's obvious that people can change themselves to some degree. I mean this is the necessary basis of *any* conceivable attempt to better oneself.

I'd just recommend you be skeptical of his opinions on epistemology and religion if you're going to be a fan. He goes way off the rails in those two areas imo.
