Race is not a cultural institution. We'd all see the problem with blaming brown Sikhs for the actions of brown jihadis because skin colour doesn't really have much to do with this.

You’re desperately trying to twist my words. If you want a productive discussion, don’t base it on a straw man. And stop framing everything in terms of blame.
-
I'm genuinely not. Can you state where you think we differ then? I have been arguing under the assumption you thought race was more significant to responsibility than values.
-
At this point I think our fundamental difference is that you see these arguments as personal blame and I see them as diagnosing and addressing systemic problems.
-
Do non-evangelical whites live under a different system to evangelical ones? You seemed not to blame the religion but whiteness. How does that work?
-
“Blame” again.

Yes, Sven. This is the topic of conversation. If no-one and nothing is to blame for Roy Moore getting votes and no-one and nothing is to praise for his not getting elected, there is nothing to talk about. It doesn't matter.
-
Let’s consider a different analogy. Suppose the tax system gives you (meaning a subset of people to which you belong) a deduction that helps you But is bad for the society. Would you use it? Even if you think it’s unfair?

Prop 8. Black evangelicals joined white evangelicals and Mormons to ban gay marriage in California. The historical amnesia of these people is infuriating.

"Productive" is a social construct aimed to suppress everyone who wants to laze around smoking weed and watch cartoons all day.
