Currently having an argument about whether cisgendered people are obsessed by gender. I think this is nuts. We're the ones who don't have to be. Our gender matches our biological sex & no-one questions it.

I don't need to think about being a woman or about femininity very much because everyone accepts I am a woman and that my liking for a feminine appearance is unexceptional.

Apparently, what I really mean by this is: So...what you’re saying is you’re cis, and you think it’s ok for you to be obsessed with gender because there’s more of you?

Apparently, I need to accept that I am enforcing my gender norms on trans people by having more common ones. It's irrelevant that I actively promote acceptance of gender-nonconformity.

I try to be supportive. I really do. I just don't think cis people are generally more obsessed with gender than trans activists because we don't tend to need to think about it that much.pic.twitter.com/5cjuOjEVfC

Gender performativity happens without thinking about it, that's kind a of big part of this concept. This is a strange argument.

Nope, pretty sure we're just behaving in ways that we think will lead to sex/relationships.
