This is very good and I agree with much of it. However, I don't think the defining feature of critical theory is quite encapsulated by the desire to liberate people from oppression. The difference lies in what is called "oppression". In liberal humanism oppression is a legal term, denial of rights or violation of rights. In Po-Mo Critical Theory oppression is a social term, and means denial or violation of one's identification with group identity.
