To be fair, one of the today's uplifting twitter stories is about a woman who killed herself because a mob harassed her for not having sex with somebody she didn't want to have sex with. This may be the closest thing to a rape culture we've seen.

If you're referring to August Ames that's more to do with "homophobia" than rape culture. The whole story itself is ludicrous and shows just how backwards and tribal some have become. A woman killed herself and there are people who were partly involved and genuinely don't care.

I don't agree on homophobia, but perhaps a (mis)perception of HIV risk in a dangerous work environment.
-
There probably was a misperception. I don't know the statistics on HIV cases for male porn stars who have done gay scenes compared to straight only male porn stars. That being said, she's not forced to have sex with anyone and is allowed any reason to refuse.

I recently discussed with my sister her and my experiences with undesired attention. We had the expected shock/panic, but also sometimes a sense of flattery. We attributed the waning of the "flattery" to maturation & self confidence, In this, men are socialized to say yes.

tbqh I still have a hard time taking it seriously when some teacher in Florida (it's always Florida) gets caught with a high school guy. Do I have Internalized Misandry?
