I think so much would be helped in the gender wars if only people would stop taking all or nothing approaches and recognise that different but strongly overlapping distributions of psychological traits exist between the sexes.

Asserting no differences exist usually disadvantages women because then it is assumed that a historically male-dominated society must still exert influence & prevent women from making exactly the same choices as men in exactly the same numbers as tho men are the default humans.

This leads to devaluing the areas in which women are stronger on average and the fields of expertise they tend to dominate. Healthcare & education are rather important ones. It also leads to an assumption that men are routinely discriminating against and undervaluing women.

Assuming that men and women are fundamentally different & suited for fundamentally different roles in life is usually understood to disadvantage women because it has historically restricted their career opportunities but it also disadvantages men.

It assumes that it is always better to be expected to spend more time at work & less time at home with family whilst many men might actually prefer to work less & be with family more but be afraid of being seen as lazy, unambitious or irresponsible in a way that women seldom are

So, just stop taking all or nothing positions, humans, and recognise different but overlapping distributions of psychological traits/interests/abilities.
